How do I obtain a park entrance pass?
Only 118 of your 417 park sites charge entrance fees. You can obtain park entrance passes by visiting a park site that charges an entrance fee. Entrance fee sites have passes available; we recommend calling a park prior to your visit. (See the park search to locate a specific park.) There are a number of entrance passes available, including park-specific passes as well as passes that offer entrance to more than 2,000 federal recreation sites in addition to the national parks (Annual, Military, Senior, 4th Grade, Access, and Volunteer passes). Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site
The Vanderbilt Mansion is open every day by guided tour only. Visit our Operating Hours & Seasons page for more information regarding tour times. All tours begin in the Pavilion Visitor Center. The mansion is closed, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day, including the grounds and buildings. The grounds are free and open everyday at sunrise. The entrance gate at Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site will be subject to closure 30 minutes prior to sunset.

Vanderbilt Mansion NHS, in terms of architecture, interiors, mechanical systems, road systems and landscape, is a remarkably complete example of a gilded-age country place, illustrating the political, economic, social, cultural, and demographic changes that occurred as America industrialized in the years after the Civil War.
