This location is absolutely disgusting. I am appalled that they have not been shut down by the health inspector assigned to the location. There are fruit flies, everywhere… on the ceiling, walls and in the air. I found one in my DRINK! It should be shut down immediately. As I was eating I noticed…This establishment is practically run by high schoolers. One girl working there the morning I went answered some of my questions and complaints. I didn’t catch her name but she had pale skin and dark features. She said she was the one running the floor… yet she was consistently rolling her eyes, and sighing under her breath. She was extremely disrespectful. It was obvious she does not want to be there. Not to mention the music playing was completely inappropriate. After eating and drinking my smoothie I asked her “Where are her managers, and could I speak with them?”. She responded and I quote “The owners are only there when it is convenient for them”…. No wonder this location is a complete wreck. I asked her if she liked her job, she said maybe she would if they paid her enough. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!!! MANAGMENT IS UNFAIR TO THE WORKERS AND THE HEALTH CODE REGULATIONS!!!!! If the girl had any experience in customer service I would say she should be fired immediately, the disrespect, laziness and overall atmosphere was… disappointing. The owners of this franchise should shut this location down.

20 Years of Happy Customers

We’ve been making and serving fresh food for as long as we can remember. Even before we opened our first cafe, we served fresh fruit smoothies from a stand on a Florida beach. We’ve come a long way since then but we’ve remained true to our early days of pure, wholesome food.

In 1997, we opened our first restaurant in Tallahassee, Florida to give our customers a place to sit and relax while enjoying our fruit smoothies. By 1999, we added a wide range of wholesome food options to our menu that perfectly complemented our smoothies. One year later, we officially established the Tropical Smoothie Cafe name.

In 2007, we celebrated our 10 year anniversary and started our own holiday, National Flip Flop Day®. This year, we are taking a whole new approach to National Flip Flop Day® and Camp Sunshine fundraising! In 2017, on National Flip Flop Day® customers who visit our cafes wearing flip flops between 2pm-7pm will receive a FREE Sunshine Smoothie in our NEW limited edition 16 oz. 20th Anniversary souvenir cup! We will also be kicking off donations for our cause, Camp Sunshine.

Today, customers continue to fall in love with Tropical Smoothie Cafe as a destination for flavor. We’ve always been guided by this one simple belief: when you eat better, you feel better and when you feel better – all is better. It’s why our mission is to inspire a healthier lifestyle by serving amazing food and smoothies with a bit of tropical fun.

Inspiring a Healthier Lifestyle by Giving Back

Real fruit smoothies, toasted sandwiches, wraps, flatbreads and fresh salads are one thing, but there’s another addition that we’re even more proud of- our relationship with our national charity partner, Camp Sunshine. Over the years our customers have helped us raise over $4 million!

Our thanks go out to all of our customers, franchisees, and crew members who have helped provide memorable experiences for these children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
