ive been going into this gas station on a daily basis for well over 2 years but on a regular basis for over 5 and to be quite honest, have never had a negative thing to say about the store at all, nor have i had anything but great things to say about the employees here over all that time…and let me say this as well; anytime there has been a minor issue like running out of an item i buy a lot or maybe accidently shorting me on a dollar in change, etc…(which any of those, plus a few are simple regular things that happen in stores) the staff has been nothing short of amazing in making sure they stock up immediately on that item, etc and are always making certain they apologize and fix it for me. Well, all of that applied up until today- 3 weeks into a worldwide pandemic and i go in today to grab my usual things and say hey to my day shift buddy and not only did I realize over half of the food items in this store were well past their expiration date(not sell by date, the date the item expired) but as if that wasnt bad enough, while im looking through the beef jerky and then the chips and then the peanut shelf because of course now im panicked and wanna check every date on any item ive eaten in the past month…….i realize that while im unfolding or lifting a part of the wrapper where its folded or made to fit around each product i see that there is the thickest dust ive ever seen on many of these same items, and to make a long story short as i continued on down each isle and scanned each shelf with my eyes; it quickly became apparent to me that not one of these lazy, careless employees has even attempted to even just wipe a layer of dust off any part of that store, let alone scrub anything or wipe down and disinfect a single counter space, card machine, or shelf in the entire store and i couldnt help but to say “I cannot believe you all havent cleaned any part of your store, are you aware of how serious this whole thing is? and I can clearly see nothing has been touched as far is cleaning anything and that is dangerous and i dont think you should stay open until you decide to have all your employees pitch in to clean!!” and let me also make very clear the fact that i am not that person or that customer that complains at all really, i hate those type of people! But this is not something to play with, this is not something you can just blow off and not clean a single thing or disinfect and not have any reprecautions from not doing so….that leaves me here, warning anyone else that goes there regularly and didnt think youd have to worry about this. Its dusty, dirty, and the worst part is that this dust and everything(even the food items and merchandise) are old; and have been stocked on the shelves for quite some time, so much time infact that youd be lucky to find an item thats not yet expired! this has to be a team effort, worldwide, if we hope to see any progress, and if i cant even make it past my corner gas station being clean, how in the actual fu** is the entire world supposed to do so. Its scary and the only part of any businesses being open that put my mind at ease was the fact that every business ive been to have been properly cleaning, disinfecting, protecting themselves and each and every customer, BUT NOT EXXON AT MARTIN AND GROESBECK CLEARLY!!! and as a result of this pathetic, lazy behavior, they just lost one of their best customers!!! clean up the store ya filthy animals!!!
