About Black Bear Diner

Black Bear Diner has quickly become one of the top performing “anti-chains” nationwide. Read more about our history, proud accomplishments and recent growth below.

Black Bear Diner, founded in 1995, is a fast-growing, community-oriented, family dining concept that offers a one-of-a-kind experience in a fun, bear-themed atmosphere. Black Bear Diner was born from a desire to bring home-style comfort food classics and personal service back to the dining experience. The brand is strategically growing its national footprint, with a goal of 100 locations by 2018.

Recognized as a Top 10 Franchise Value by Full Service Restaurant Magazine and ranked 275th in Franchise Times’ Next 300 Franchises to Watch in 2013, Black Bear Diner is actively seeking experienced franchise operators whose passion, energy, and entrepreneurial spirit reflect that of the founders, and share a relentless commitment to serving their guests and communities.

About the La Habra Location

No matter what you’re looking for in a diner, you’ll certainly find it here. The Black Bear Diner in La Habra, host to the Annual Corn Festival event that attracts more than 30,000 people, has managed to design a beautiful interior, delicious meals, and fantastic service that will appease even the finickiest of patrons. Our goal is to make sure that every person who enters our diner is smiling when they leave, and we’ll do whatever we can to make that happen. We are very active in our community through efforts that include Dine ’n Donate nights with Relay for Life events, along with supporting the Whittier Christian High School and local police and fire departments.
