1 Review for Banfield The Pet Hospital

My dog died of cancer because Dr. Newton misdiagnosed her cancer as benign without any tests being done. I asked a vet through online chat about a bump my dog had in her mouth and showed a picture. The ONLINE vet told me it was cancer and take her in. So I did. And then it got worse and I took my dog in again, antibiotics. Then it got even worse and by that time, getting the results of cancer was too late. I took her to an oncologist and another vet. I tried so hard but it was too late. Her lower jaw would have had to be removed and the next surgery wasn’t for two weeks. She wouldn’t have made it to surgery if i would have tried to push my dogs life to make it.. If this is your first time getting pet insurance because you think it is the best for your animal to finally be on a plan…then go somewhere else. Look into actual pet insurance like Trupanion and go to an actual vet. DON’T GO TO THIS CORPORTATE CRAP!! Need help with financials and asking your Banfield vet about any resources, any non-profits organizations, anything to help…nope. Just care credit. She didn’t even mention anything about the Banfield Foundation…their own foundation. Now I am stuck with a $700 bill ontop of the $500 I just paid to upgrade the plan for the dental and biopsy on my dead dog because I upgraded two weeks ago to try and save her life. It could have been different if the vet would have taken any kind of measure to make sure it wasn’t actually cancer. I trusted her. She made it sound like it would be okay and I believed her. I didn’t know. She should have. That very first day the online vet said cancer, she should have made it sound concerning. I would have changed my plan and everything right then, under her guidance. My dog would have actually been able to have a quality life after surgery or radiation if we would have started the process on August 31st instead of October 14th. She would still be here. Please do more research on pet insurance.
