The store is immaculate, the employees are friendly and very helpful. The fresh produce is beautiful. The meat department is very clean and meat is exceptional. A friend recommended the “Fresh Packed in the Store” Steam in the bag vegetables – they are wonderful. It’s very easy to get around in the store. The Isles are spacious. I am so glad my son and daughter in law recommended this store. I am definitely recommending this store.

Harry and Sigmund Weis founded Weis Markets in 1912, when they opened a small neighborhood store known as Weis Pure Foods on Market Street in Sunbury, Pennsylvania. Today, Harry’s grandson, Jonathan oversees a company with stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia and West Virginia. Overall, we employ more than 19,000 associates in our stores, distribution center, corporate office and manufacturing facilities. Built on self reliance, we process our own milk and use the excess butterfat to make our Weis Quality Ice Cream – 50 flavors and growing! We are also proud to support local farmers. In Pennsylvania alone, we annually buy more than 20 million pounds of locally grown produce and we also purchase local produce in all of the states where we have stores. Our company and associates are committed to being good neighbors. Each year, we support local food banks and food pantries through our Fight Hunger program which generates hundreds of thousands of meals for people in need. We also donate to community-based health care organizations, focusing on charitable and clinic programs benefiting women’s health care, mammography screening and pediatric programs. We are also committed to reducing our environmental impact. We are a member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Green Chill program. Throughout our company, we are installing energy efficient equipment and systems in our stores. We are also long-time proponents of recycling. In a given year, we recycle more than 23,000 tons of cardboard, 750 tons of plastic and 329 tons of paper.
