The story of the man behind the world's best Ham began in 1908 in the small Midwestern town of Cheboygan, Michigan where John Harry Hoenselaar was born. Harry enjoyed the pleasures of growing up in small town America until he turned 18 and decided to head to the big city to seek his fortune. Upon arriving in Detroit, Harry was hired as a salesman by William Hubenet for his meat company... The Honey Baked Ham Company. It didn't take Harry long to discover he had a knack for properly slicing Ham from the bone, a very tricky process for most of his customers.
