Wow! What a ride. Back in 1980, we started out with one small store in Austin, Texas. Today, we’re the world’s leader in natural and organic foods, with 468 stores in North America and the United Kingdom.

Whole Foods Market in North Raleigh is proud to be a pioneer in sustainability! In addition to offering the highest quality natural and organic products, we have a strong commitment to local growers, and have earned recognition as a green facility! Our store is LEED certified GOLD by the US Green Building Council, featuring green technology such as a rain water cistern that collects non-potable water, energy efficient coolers and freezers, and smart lights throughout the store and in all of the offices!
In addition, Whole Foods Market in North Raleigh was recognized by the EPA as a “Zero Waste” facility in April 2012! This is the first Whole Foods Market (hopefully of many!) EVER to receive this EPA status! Zero Waste facilities divert at least 90% of all waste to non-landfill resources, such as recycling and composting! Our store owes the North Raleigh community a huge appreciation for your support and help in achieving this accomplishment!
