About this location:
Diana and I purchased a home in Fort Pierce five years ago. After running an electrical contracting business in Poughkeepsie, New York for the past twenty six years we came to Florida to retire. I have been in several businesses over the last thirty years. I opened a Restaurant in 1973, then an Electrical Contracting firm in 1979, a Limousine service in 1986, a Realty Investment company in 1985 and finally a Goin’ Postal Store in 2006. Outside of work I served as chairman of the City of Poughkeepsie Electrical License Board for twenty years. I coached youth programs for the church and city programs for over ten years. I also served in the Lion Club for twenty years and held the office of President for three terms and was regional chairman for the district. My wife and I have been working together in business for most of our marriage. Not only have we been sucessful in our business ventures, but even more so in our family and marriage. Diana and I have three wonderful children. Our son Steve runs our electrical business with the help from my niece Tammy ( Fred and Carol’s daughter). Also, they manage our realty properties. Our daughter Debbie and son-in-law Bob have five boys. My other daughter Sara and son-in-law Mark have our newest grandson Mark Jr. My brother Fred will manage the Fort Pierce Goin’ Postal. Fred and his wife Carol moved to Florida three years ago after selling their catering business in Hyde Park, N.Y. He and Carol have always loved Florida. They have two sons, a daughter and eight grandchildren living in Florida, they also have a daughter and granddaughter in Poughkeepsie, New York. Fred isn’t ready to retire and my wife and I like being busy, so I decided to find a new business venture. After a little research I started looking into postal franchises. To my good fortune I discovered Goin’ Postal. The next step was to find the right location. A little more then a year ago I started to look for a building in Fort Pierce on US 1 near the bridges going to Hutchinson Island. I thought this would be a great location for a postal store. We have a great looking free standing building with over twenty parking spots located on U.S. 1. Being located in Indian River County, which is noted for its oranges, we want to take advantage of this great local product.
